i was told with the penn foster high school diploma i could join the military no problem and i would be considered tier 1 but every recruiter i talk to says since its a online diploma its just like a ged and i will need 15 college credits or hours. so my question is did i do this for nothing will it do me any good?
thats the same thing i was saying. the school says you can join but i talked to one recruiter he said yea then i talked to another he said its a GED because it came offline. but my cousin is in the army and he says they do accept it, so i have about another month and ill have my diploma and im going to take the actual thing in there. maybe we will be in boot camp together
Print out the DoD statement saying that online and home schooling are now tier 1, that's what I might have to do when I go talk to a recruiter once I have my diploma, I live in Virginia.
Hope we get accepted, if not then I guess it's more money I'm going to have to dump into a community college just to get into the Army. I want to go into infantry for the Army, what about yourself?
Please be aware that acceptance is contingent on your ASVAB score. If you haven't yet taken that exam, it may be the reason for the responses you are getting. HOWEVER, please take a look at the DoD statement as well: http://community.pennfoster.edu/docs/DOC-1011.
